His skills as a leader, author and lecturer within the field of plastic surgery have been acknowledged on local, national, and international levels. He has published many articles in national and international journals on a multitude of plastic surgery topics. Dr. Heistein is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Heistein grew up in New Jersey, and attended the University of Vermont to earn his undergraduate degree. After finishing at the top of his class at The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, he then continued on to complete his combined general and plastic surgery residency at Ohio State University. He has developed a plastic surgery practice to combine state-of-the-art techniques with impeccable judgement and an artist's eye. He specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, body, and face. He has focused his attention on minimally invasive techniques, so that his patients have smaller scars, less pain, swelling and bruising. They also enjoy a shorter recovery and less down time, being able to resume their normal activities looking as natural as possible. Dr. Heistein is devoted to helping people improve the way they feel about themselves. He offers a full range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures.
