About the PracticeOur office is located in beautiful Altamonte Springs, Florida, across from the South Seminole Library. It is situated obliquely on a nicely wooded lot and purposely designed to create an atmosphere of relaxation, ease and tranquility. Surgeon ProfileAn active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Richard L. Beck is certified in the specialty of plastic surgery as well as in general surgery. Combining superior medical qualifications with a profound aesthetic sense, Dr. Beck tries to help each patient reach the highest possible level of attractiveness. He and his staff are devoted to patient welfare and surgical excellence. Dr. Beck earned his M.D. from Hahnemann Medical College in 1957, served his internship at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, and was a general surgery resident for three years at the Mayo Clinic and three years at the Kings County Medical Center, in Brooklyn, N.Y. (including one year as a fellow of the American Cancer Society). After several years of private practice in general surgery, Dr. Beck served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during the Vietnam War, and held the position as Chief of Surgery at the 12th Evacuation Hospital, CuChi, S. Vietnam. In 1969, he became a resident in plastic surgery at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital under Dr. D. Ralph Millard, and has practiced plastic surgery in the Orlando, Florida area since 1971. He holds board certification in general and plastic surgery and recertification in plastic surgery. He is a member of American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, The American College of Surgeons, The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and other professional associations, and has served as chairman of plastic surgery at Florida Hospital, as well as Vice President and President of the Seminole County Medical Society.
