Holly's Story

I had been considering breast augmentation for a few years even though I am was so young. I finally got my implants on October 3, 2007 as a 21 year old. I was 5'11" and was average sized weight wise. The year before I had decided to start finding doctors in my area that I liked. After a few appointments, I found a doctor in my area (David N. Csikai, M.D.) who had a wonderful reputation and I loved the work I saw. My Husband went to my appointment with me to ask all of his questions on size and if it would affect breast feeding later on when we wanted children. After a very, very long and inqusitive session we decided to go ahead and schedule surgery.

I was so excited about the whole thing. I went out and bought all the items I needed and got my prescriptions ready. I cleaned my house and did the laundry. Everything was done meticulously so it wouldn't drive me crazy if I was just laying around looking at something dirty. I'm sort of a neat freak. I started taking the pre surgery vitamins my doctor gave me and decided to rub cocoa butter on my chest every night in case my skin was too tight and to avoid any discomfort and stretch marks. It felt like forever until surgery day came...but it was only 2 weeks!

My mom spent the night at our house the night before surgery so she could accompany my husband and I to the surgery center. She was going to be taking me home that day as my husband went to work. We got to the surgery center sooo early. 6:15 A.M. Surgery was scheduled for an hour later. I was given a cocktail, I called it my margarita, and don't remember much about the surgery until I woke up. I apparently asked my mom what happened like 39 times as I was waking up. I finally got up , but I was very nauseaus. I did throw up once or twice. But got home and went back to sleep. I went in thinking that I was going to have 400 CC implants under the muscle, but my doctor decided that I looked much better with a 600 CC, which I must say I am now very happy about. Apparently before they put the implants in they put a balloon like thing in to fill with air like a pump to see what size looks best. Pretty cool. When I got home and found out they were so big and I thought I looked like !

Dolly Parton I was a little upset. They were in my throat! I was up and around that day but my mom did take off 10 days to help me around the house and with my dog so she didn't pull me on my leash. I was wonderful though. After that initial day I was moving and talking and by the weekend shopping! It was like a little vacation. It has been 17 days post surgery and I love my new chest. I fill out my clothes so much better and just feel better about myself in general. I am still tender and there are shooting sensations through my nipples sometimes. My skin is sensitive. I hate doing the postop massages, but I do not want capsular contracture so I do it. In retrospect I may have gone a little bit bigger, but it looks great. I did have to take a little higher of a dose of pain medicine than most people just due to a tolerance to medication and I had my mom go pick up a second prescription so I could move around.

If anyone is considering breast augmentation, I would reccommend it without hesitation. As long as there is a support system so you have help, it will be a wonderful experience. I am so happy.
